Why we love Auto events

Since I started working at Studio 525, I’ve already seen three different auto activations. I won’t lie–I’ve never been that interested in cars, in fact, I moved to New York to avoid ever using one–but with the right setting, a car launch can be very, very cool.

Interestingly enough, each of the three auto activations that I talked about have been for hybrid or fully electric vehicles. The first event was Harley Davidson’s Livewire, the first fully electric motorcycle manufacturer to go public on the New York Stock Exchange. The future of auto is electric, and seeing the excitement build for environmentally cautious vehicles is promising to say the least.

The next activation was GMC, who livestreamed the launch of the Sierra EV Denali, a massive fully-electric truck capable of driving 400 miles on just one charge. The truck was so massive that we had our entrance expanded to over 7 ½ feet to get it into our street-level space. Our wider entrance will only serve to be more useful as we book more auto events this year.

Lastly, we started this year with the launch of the hybrid-electric variant of the mid-engine Corvette C8, the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray. Chevrolet also brought in the first Corvette C8 to sit alongside its electric blue, hybrid variant.

Trend alert: hybrid and electric vehicles. We love auto events because the teams that help put them on are amazing, and have had some of the fastest builds and load-outs. We love when clients are able to use our space to its full potential, and stretch our imaginations as to what’s possible.
